SALMON VALLEY WOMAN’S FESTIVAL
AUGUST 20-22, 2010

On August 7, 8, 9 -140 wise women attended the second annual Salmon Valley Woman’s Festival on the banks of the Salmon River at Rockin’s River Resort. It was an incredible success. From beginning too end had a heart beat of its own. Everything seemed to divinely fall into to place. If something fell off something else appeared. I felt an overwhelming calm right from the beginning. I had forgotten but have great supports to remind me how much calmer I was compared to the first annual festival. Well I guess they were politely trying to say “you were uptight woman”.LOL I am sitting here beside the river in the campsite where the Healing touch women were stationed, still feeling the vibrations and energy that was created here. As I close my eyes I can visualize the women gathered, laughing, sharing, smiling, listening, dancing, swaying, and clapping. It makes me smile when I think about the festival and how much it benefits women on their journeys. It seems we all had a common thread, purpose, reclaiming the Goddess within. Through our workshops, playing, entertainment and breaking bread, there were so many “ahh” moments. I can still radiate from the energy that rushes through my body on the Saturday night when the band “On the house’ was rocking us. I felt so free and so safe; I could just let it all go. I have had many women approach me since I created the festivals stating that their experience was life changing. They are taking risks and moving in new positive directions bringing abundance and prosperity into their lives. When we take our power back and reclaim ourselves there is nothing that is impossible! We start to affirm and believe that our highest good is presenting itself. There were over 140 women who attended the festival and not once did I hear a negative or unkind word between anyone. I had a phone call just before the festival by a woman who asked if she attended the festival was she allowed out anytime or was it closed. I chuckled to myself ,well we are not the hotel California so no worries, I told her she was absolutely able to come and go as she pleased. That had me thinking that some women do not understand what our purpose out here is. It does not matter whether you are Christian, Buddhist, Earth Worshiper or any belief system; all we ask is that you do not judge and stay open. Whether you are big or small, young or wise it does not matter, we are all here to share, laugh, play, learn, teach, mentor, and have fun! From beginning to end the SVW Festival was a divine success. We want to thank all the organizers, facilitators, volunteers, healers, vendors, participants, and food caterers for all they contributed to the success of this year’s event. So mark your calendars for Third Annual SVW Festival August 20, 21, 22, 2010, take a chance, you will be pleasantly surprised.

I send blessings to all the fabulous women who have continued to participate and support our woman’s festival, as well as all the wonderful women who are giving us a welcome boost of new energy this year. I marvel at all the women who are feeling the “pull” to rediscover a much deeper inner truth. Mother Earth is going through changes, and we must all learn to support and roll with the shifts and changes, for as she changes, so do we. What does it take for us as women to break from the past of limiting beliefs to discover the potential that we hold? Each woman, as she stands tall, and discovers her inner strength, sends ripples out in to the Universe and touches us all. We have all heard of the “Butterfly effect”. ….
The phrase that refers to the idea that a butterfly's wings might create tiny changes in the atmosphere that may ultimately alter the path of a tornado or delay, accelerate or even prevent the occurrence of a tornado in another location. The flapping wing represents a small change in the initial condition of the system, which causes a chain of events leading to large-scale alterations of events Had the butterfly not flapped its wings, the trajectory of the system might have been vastly different. While the butterfly does not "cause" the tornado in the sense of providing the energy for the tornado, it does "cause" it in the sense that the flap of its wings is an essential part of the initial conditions resulting in a tornado, and without that flap that particular tornado would not have existed…(to quote Wikipedia)
Will you be the kind of woman who’s butterfly wings transform the world in to a better place? Are you willing to open your mind, your life, your heart to new and loving ideas and beliefs? As the baby boomers (me included) age we discover new truths, and discard the old, negative and useless beliefs we have been raised with. Women are strong and powerful, but through the ages that has been forgotten or dismissed. In networking with women at places like this festival we meet other women who remind us of our abilities and our strengths. I have lost count of the powerful, compassionate, funny, compelling, loving, smart, courageous, provocative, strong women I have been blessed to meet through this festival. If you decide to join us this year, and I recommend that you do, you too will be amazed at the wonderful women you meet, and at the fabulous workshops we offer to help you stretch and grow.
